  1. "A Face in the Crowd".
    The exhibit will be on display for the entire month of June with a receptionon Thursday, June 18, 2015, from 6 to 9 pm at the 5 East Art Gallery located in the rear of Kathy's Kove and Kafé, 5 East Washington Street (Route 57), Washington, NJ (Warren County) during the Washington Art Walk.  I'd love to see you if you're local!

For the entire month of August I will have pieces from my 30 Days of Faces series on display.

30 Days of Faces

The face. It is our visual identifier for people we know, people who we find attractive, people we feel threatened by, and how others identify us as well. It's our visual canvas for displaying emotion. A smile, tearful eyes, a pensive gaze - these things transcend language. The face is powerful. Often we don't often stop to examine its power because it is part of our normal everyday life.

In 30 Days of Faces, Mike explored not only depicting various facial features and the power of their expression, but also experimented in the media used. Combining his love for drawing, painting and at times photography, Mike was able to pursue 30 continual days of creation. Take his art at "face" value or look deeper. What do you see? Perhaps you will see a bit of yourself in the faces displayed.
